About

Friends, it is so exciting to return to my first love–blogging again! Since I started this blog in 2016, A LOT has changed! I am beyond thankful for the twists and turns life has taken since then and I can’t wait to share more about my journey through writing once more. Come along with me as I document my family’s adventures and wisdom that serves to help others raise healthy families while cultivating a healthy marriage God’s way!

A southern gal was born and raised in San Antonio, TX where tacos are considered the main course for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner! I loved my neighborhood and schooling experiences growing up, but I always knew I would be called to someplace different when my professional career began. With my love for teaching, academia, and dance, I majored in English with a reading minor and landed my first teaching position as a twelfth grade English teacher and Pep Squad director for John Jay High School. As a single mother, working woman, and active member in my local church, I am grateful for the love of my life who entered my life at just the right time. David, my now husband, and I married in San Antonio at the tail-end of my second year of teaching; we then packed up and started our lives in Austin, TX where we work, live, and play today.

As a family, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hanging out together! Whether it’s a game of tennis, a trip to our local bookstore, a few hours at our favorite coffee shop, or family time around the kitchen (cooking, eating, and laughing), the time together is priceless! Trust me y’all, our sassy 9-year-old, Leah, keeps our calendar booked! Plus, we just became 2-time parents to another beautiful princess, Miss London Bella, pictured in my tummy above.

Growing up, I loved writing lists out, planning events, and giving advice to my friends through chain letters and friendship journals. As an adult, I am amazed how the blogging world gives us the opportunity to engage in ¨old school¨ habits with a ¨new school¨ twist! My vision for my blog is to connect with women (and men–equal opportunity, here) from all walks of life who seek encouragement and accountability as they navigate through marriage, relationships, parenting, education ventures, and all the other interesting seasons life presents us. I pray that as you read through my site, you´ll discover a friend´s voice that uses her own experiences to help you enjoy and better understand your own. Happy reading and don’t forget to subscribe!
