About

A southern gal, I was born and raised in San Antonio where tacos are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner! My experiences growing up were colored with laughter, endless hours at our local church, fun with my friends, and me leading a group of students into doing something choreographed some way, shape, or form! Though I had aspirations to attend college outside of San Antonio, my story took a sharp turn when I became a teen mother 3 weeks prior to my 18th birthday. I stayed in town, attended The University of the Incarnate Word with a major in English in pursuit of my teaching degree. Four years later by the grace of God, I landed my first position as an English teacher and Pep Squad director for John Jay High School. I was a single mother, a working woman, and an active member of my local church when the love of my life entered my story at just the right time. David, my now husband, and I married in San Antonio after 4 years of dating long distance; we packed up and started our lives in Austin, TX where we work, live, and play today as a family of 8! Our children are Leah, London, Lauren, Luke, and Levi. Our dearest Grandme lives with us as well where she gets to spend invaluable time with her grands making lifelong memories we will all cherish for a lifetime.

My vision for this blog is to connect with women from all walks of life who seek encouragement and accountability as they navigate the whimsical complexities of marriage, motherhood, friendships, ambition, and purpose. I pray that as you journey through my site, you will discern a friend’s voice that uses her own experiences to help you enjoy and better understand your own.
